Hello there,

My name is Nishant Suri, and I’m from India. I started with HTMi in 2008 as a Certificate student, and I successfully graduated with BSc. (Hons) in 2012, as well as with a MSc. degree in 2014. Both the courses were done through HTMi, for which I’m extremely glad about my decision to choose the institute, for acquiring a proper hospitality educational background.

In previous internships, which have all been in Switzerland, I’ve worked as a Kitchen trainee in Fondue House, Luzern, as a Day-night porter in Hotel Tamaro, Ascona, as a Commis de Rang in Hotel Alpensonne, Arosa, and as a Front Office-Night Audit Trainee in Renaissance Hotel, Zurich. I also assumed the role of a Night shift leader during my time at the Renaissance, and was also a part of the Operational Closing team.

Currently. I’m doing an internship with Radisson Blu Hotel located at the Zurich Airport, as a Front Office Trainee. Being at the front line developing and maintaining guest relations is of utmost importance, and as per the ‘100 % guest satisfaction’ philosophy of the Radisson Blu brand, we as Guest Services agents are given the empowerment to act accordingly. Moreover, being a front line staff member in Switzerland, German language is of great importance.

Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to learn the language, in speech and writing, as fluently as possible. Nonetheless, my previous experiences have come in quite handy when it comes to overcome the language barrier.

Lastly, I would like to say that had it not been for HTMi, I, as a professional, would probably not as successful and independent in the way that I am today. The place has guided me to a good extent, but the motivation of oneself comes from within to be guided or not.

Kind regards,
Suri.
