“Career Opportunities and Growth in Hospitality”

HTMi Switzerland is pleased to announce that Ms. Kylie Thuyen, Human Resources Manager, The Grace Hotel, Sydney, Australia will be one of its guest speakers at our Global Student Forum taking place on 21st and 22nd April 2021. Ms. Thuyen will be talking about “Career Opportunities and Growth in Hospitality”.

Kylie is a proud and enthusiastic hospitality professional and has been in the industry since she graduated from HTMi Switzerland in 2008 with a first-class BSc (Hons.) Degree from Ulster University. Kylie was also the recipient of the Excellent Student Award. Her passion and love for the industry is growing bigger by day. Kylie says that thanks to the many career fairs organised by HTMi every semester, she was thrilled to secure the Front Office Management Trainee opportunity with the Rotana Hotels & Resorts group in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates before her graduation. The experiences she gained in her four and a half years in Dubai and Abu Dhabi across the Rotana, Jumeirah and the Shangri-La groups were priceless. It is such a wonderful industry that could open up endless travel opportunities and help to shape and build you with all these valuable soft skills for life.

In 2013, she took the chance to apply for the transfer from Shangri La Dubai to Shangri La Sydney and truly fell in love with Sydney and has called this beautiful city home since.

During her 13 years’ experiences in hospitality, she has held various managerial positions in Front Office and Human Resources departments and feels so blessed to be able to do what she loves within the industry she is so connected to all these years. It is 13 years and counting. Kylie is married and has a two-year-old son.
