In the hospitality sector Ambuja Neotia Group has made its presence felt touching new heights in success on its growth trail. The Conclave was the maiden entrepreneurial venture of our Chairman in the hospitality industry. Today, with a glorious 25 years behind it, the brand has been extended through The Conclave Ecohub, Club Verde Vista at Kolkata, Club Rio Vista at Raichak-on-Ganges and Club Montana Vista at Siliguri. The Ffort at Raichak-on-Ganges was the Group’s first stride into Hotels and Resorts, which was expanded to include Ganga Kutir Resort and Spa, Anaya Kutir and TFHK, a time share resort, all at Raichak. The Ambuja Neotia Group also owns Swissotel Kolkata Neotia Vista, and is developing another luxury 5 star hotel at Patna. Also under construction are luxury resorts in Gangtok and Makaibari, both of which shall be operated by the Taj Group under a management agreement. It also has five clubs across Kolkata, Siliguri and Raipur, besides successfully creating fine dining destinations, such as Aafra and Orient. It also operates 29 outlets of Tea Junction and Aafra Deli in QSR format. These ventures have made Ambuja Neotia Group the largest employer in Eastern India in hospitality sector. In India, Tourism is a sunrise industry with WTO identifying it as one with the largest growth potential in the coming decade, it is poised to emerge as the biggest tourist destination for both international and domestic markets. There are 2.40 million people working in the hospitality sector in India. With the advent of new hotels, 13.45 million jobs will be created across sub-segments such as Restaurants (10.49 million jobs), Hotels (2.3 million jobs) and Travel Agents/Tour Operators (0.66 million). The number of branded hotel rooms stood at 103,855 for FY14 and it is expected to touch 150,702 by FY19, thus increasing the job prospects for the aspiring graduates. With foreign tourism arrivals likely to touch 15 million by 2020, there is requirement of 180,000 more hotel rooms in the country according to the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India. The tourism of Govt. Of West Bengal clearly states its objectives as a growth rate of tourist arrival in excess of 10% Y-O-Y till 2021, and to increase the availability of ‘branded’ hotel accommodation room to 10,000 by 2020. This will translate into a figure of around 30,000 people working in the branded hotels alone.
