HTMi, Hotel and Tourism Management Institute congratulate the Ulster University Business School on celebrating their Ruby Anniversary in 2015.

HTMi was very honoured to be invited to the Ulster University Business School Ruby lunch, which took place on Friday, 20th November 2015 in the Titanic Suite Ballroom of the Titanic Museum Belfast. The amazing venue of the Titanic Belfast is a visitor attraction and a monument to Belfast’s maritime heritage on the site of the former Harland & Wolff shipyard in the city’s Titanic Quarter where the RMS Titanic was built in 1912. The magnificent Titanic Suite is an exact replica of the grand ballroom on board the Titanic Liner, complete with an iconic hand carved staircase.

This luncheon was the culmination of a year of activities to mark the 40th anniversary of the Ulster University Business School. Each of the business school’s events had showcased the success of the school, with their students, colleagues, alumni, and business partners all taking centre stage.

As a Business School, they have grown from a small, regional school in 1975, to become one of the largest Business Schools in the U.K. and Ireland in 2015, and they are proud of their achievements of their staff and alumni.

HTMi was honoured to have Mr. Ian Larmour, Director, Mr. Charles Hains, Academic Director and Mr. Anthony Lack, Events & Training Manager present at the celebration. Also in attendance at the luncheon were over 400 guests, comprising senior officials of the university, faculty, alumni, government and business people. Sir James Nesbitt, Chancellor of the Ulster University gave the opening address. Master of Ceremonies was Jamie Delargy a Northern Irish journalist and Business Editor at Ulster Television. During the event Mr. Delargy hosted an alumni expert panel discussion with Helen Kirkpatrick, MBE, non-executive director of Kingspan Group plc., Ms. Jill Minne, Assistant Chief Executive and Director of Organisation Development for Belfast City Council, Mr. Colin Walsh Founder & Chief Executive at Crescent Capital, Belfast, United Kingdom, Prof. Marie McHugh, Dean, Ulster University Business School at Ulster University and Mr. Ian Larmour, Director, HTMi, Hotel and Tourism Management Institute Switzerland.

HTMi and Ulster University are very proud of their long-standing partnership, which is now more than ten years, and we wish the Ulster University Business School all the very best for the next 40 years.
