Hello dear friends, students, and future managers!
My name is Sergei and I came from Latvia. It was a very serious decision for me to come to Hospitality institute in Switzerland after graduating informational technology institute in my country.
I faced many threats, as new culture, foreign country, age, language barrier and many others. But now looking back I understand that if you really want to change your life and do something that you like, call your fears “challenges” and fight them!
HTMI gave me unique opportunity to combine studies with internships in order to use theoretical knowledge in hotel industry. I believe that this combination is a key to success for many students, because theoretical achievements are useless without practical knowledge, especially in hotel business.
During my school time I used to work in several 4 and 5 star hotels in Switzerland in various departments and positions as: front office clerk, waiter, bar tender, housekeeping supervisor, guest service, banqueting.
After I graduated HTMI I decided to stay in Zurich, because I fell in love with this city and this place gives opportunities for self-development and career growth. I would like to thank HTMI team for great contribution and wish best of luck for students and those who are planning to join HTMI.
