HTMi previously worked together with FIFA at the World Cup South Africa in 2010.

Students and Graduates of HTMi have the opportunity to volunteer for these two world-famous events, thus gaining a vast amount of experience and knowledge.
In October 2016, volunteers may learn more about these events, when representatives from FIFA Russia 2018 Local Organizing Committee visit HTMi to do a briefing.

The number of available positions is approximately five depending upon the interest of the students. The dates of the FIFA Russia 2017 Confederations Cup are from the 17th June until the 2nd July 2017 and the FIFA Russia 2018 World Cup will be held from the 14th June to the 15th July 2018. For both events the volunteers will have the opportunity to work approximately three weeks.

The following services will be provided for the volunteers: visa support, accreditation, uniform and meals during the shifts, public transport free of charge at certain host-cities. Students will also receive support in understanding transportation systems and finding accommodation. Moreover, it is planned that all volunteers are accommodated at one place. Flights and accommodation will need to be paid by the volunteers.

There are numerous available positions; Transport, Spectator Services, Catering, Language Services (for further information please visit the official website). However, one very interesting position is Protocol function. Here volunteers will work at the official hotels helping out with VIP/VVIP ticketing distribution process and at the Stadiums welcoming and hosting the VIP/VVIP guests at the Lounges.

The volunteers may choose the city, in which they would like to work. There are four host-cities for Confederations Cup (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi and Kazan) and eleven for the World Cup (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan, Samara, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Kaliningrad, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, Saransk).

The first deadline of applications for both events is 31st December 2016; an exact date will be announced soon. After this, personal interviews and tests of the potential volunteers will start.

If you are interested in applying for one or both of these events, kindly contact Mr. Anthony Lack, HTMI Events Manager urgently as alack@htmi.ch who will provide you more detailed information as well as the link and procedures for applying.
