Congratulations to the Centre of Events Management at HTMi for working in collaboration with the Organising Committee for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics & Paralympic Games. HTMi sent a group of seven volunteers to work at the Rio Olympics this summer.
During the Rio Olympics the students worked within the International Relations and Protocol Services, Meetings & Events, and the Secretariat Department in the various Olympic Family Hotels.
The Rio 2016 Olympics committee provided the students with accreditation throughout the event; they helped prepare ceremonies where medals were presented for the victorious participants. Furthermore, the students assisted in booking village tours and ensuring access for the International Olympic Committee member’s guests. Moreover, they offered support with ticket distribution and overall work operations, including the distribution of commemorative certificates, information on competitions’ schedules and informing the visitors on forms of travel between various venues.
The Centre of Events Management Training has for many years collaborated with many international sporting Events, such as the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games, the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, amongst others.
HTMi and the Centre for Events Management is very proud of the achievement of our Ambassadors at the Rio Olympics and thank them for their outstanding levels of professionalism and attitude in upholding the HTMi standards of hospitality.
